Insight into a day in the life of Liz

Let the rant commence!

The day started off badly, losing sunglasses, forgetting to put nappies out for collection, trying to take Nick to work but struggling on account of the Town and Country show at Stoneleigh etc, etc.

Came home, found sunglasses, went and bought toilet roll from supermarket.

Get home, Maddy's done an enormous poo! Tidy up, administer milk. All fine. Make lunch , eat, go to shops for courgettes for tea (forgot them in supermarket!). Come home, Maddy screams - too tired to eat, change nappy. Lo and behold! Another poo. Great!

Come downstairs, potter with eldest, she does a poo - in the potty. Hurrah I hear you cry! Hurrah indeed.

Closely followed by another poo in the potty. Hurrah again, I hear you cry. Indeed.

CLOSELY followed by ANOTHER poo - Hurr.... booohhhh. in her pants. Not so good

CLOSELY followed by ANOTHER poo - huh??? ON THE STAIRS FFS!

Then refusing to put pants on bottom. Only willing to put on her head and walk around with musical twirly noisy thing... pretending to be an elephant?

Who'd be a mother?

By - the - way

We've had lots of spam on our comments so you now have to prove you're a human being by typing in a word shown to you first. Sorry. Know it's a pain, but fed up of looking at spam - very messy!

Update # (goodness knows what!)

So we've been ambling along - busy doing nothing really. Trying to keep up with the garden, preparing for the naming day next weekend, watching Madeline continually trying to crawl and Jessica continually getting into mischief... She's now bruised her cheek, neither of us know how, only that "S'urts Mummy". (Don't know why it begins with an "s" but apparently it does!)

Nana and Grampy came up for the afternoon last Sunday and ended up helping with jobs. Still haven't sorted the door handle out Father... Sorry - will do. (Before Mothers complain - it's still better than it was!) Nick dug up the area for the new playhouse due in this week and has finished that off today. Fingers crossed the weather holds off so we can get it put up!

Saw "Max'Awwy" separately this week because Max was poorly. Didn't get any photos of his visit but Harry came on Thursday and played nicely. Didn't see Madeline at all (mammoth 2 and half hour nap - fantastic!). Harry's Mummy (Lucy) went to the midwife (due last Sat) and so Harry stayed and decorated a gingerbread man like Jessica (who had already had one that day - but we'll gloss over that - anything to entertain two 2 and half year old toddlers!) He went away REASONABLY happy which is all we can expect really.

Then Jessica bickered most of the time with Max (if her parent's relationship is any model - this really must be love!!!!!), mainly over marbles, but we got over it with biscuits and communal potty filling next to each other. Oh the heady heights!

So that's it really, a few photos of us busy doing nothing. It'll be better next week (we have something to talk about!)

Thank yous

Not very important, but just to put you in the picture of the last couple of days... we had a visit from Jessica's Honorary Aunt Beck who stepped in to the breach and gave Madeline some milk, entertained Jessica (mainly with her handbag - why do we bother with toys?) and entertained me while they were sleeping (you could use that phrase for a film - oh they already did!). Suffice to say it was a lovely day, and my camera didn't feature much but Beck's new one did so you'll have to wait and see if any nice ones come out of the woodwork.

And today the Wylie Jnrs (minus Naughty Nick) went to visit the Thurlby Jnrs. A good time was had by most. I'm not sure Megan liked Jessica's "patting" on her back, or William liked being laughed at on the loo. In fact I'm positive by the tears that followed. But everyone made up soon after each event and all was well again (until the next time!). Shock horror, I didn't take the camera but the Thurlby's have a new toy so once again... you'll have to wait and see if any nice ones come out of the woodwork!!!!

Anyway, to the point of today's posting. We collected/borrowed/stole (whatever) a ring for Madeline to sit in and play. She is currently still giggling one hour later proving it to be an excellent collection/borrow/steal. So thank you very much BAJWM, I have a little more freedom from entertaining once again.

Over and out.

Nappies away!

So. Not many photos this fortnight on account of no time. I have spent the last two weeks shovelling s***! Jessica is now (touch wood, fingers crossed, and all that!) potty trained. Gone is the relatively large change bag with two sizes of nappies, wipes, cream, etc, etc, etc, and here is the ENORMOUS - going away for the weekend type - bag carrying nappies, wipes, cream, clothes, pants, potty, potty liners, more spare clothes, even more spare pants, stickers for number 1's and the occasional (but not mandatory - don't want to be creating eating disorders!) sweet for number 2's and Uncle Tom Cobbley and all!!!!! Why did I think that this would be easier??!!!

Apart from that, I came into the lounge yesterday to find Madeline about 2 feet away from where I left her, so the end is nigh! She's backward crawling like a goodun'. I also sat her in her Bumbo seat this afternoon, thinking she can look at the toy Jessica's playing with but won't get near enough to swallow the marbles but no! On returning from the kitchen bearing milk, I discover her lying on the floor a la skydiving pose. Either she's become an escapologist or she's had a little help from her not-so-little friend! They didn't mention that on the packaging!

So there you have it, a little insight into a normal Liz, Jessica and Madeline day - 5pm is the only time of day when I feel pleased to see Nick!!!!!!! Ho hum.

Look how many wees I did today Daddy! Posted by Picasa

Happy holidays

I'm not feeling very inspired today - possibly on account of the small toddler in my face all morning. However, here follows the photos of our summer holiday. A great time was had by all (all of us definately, but everyone else too I think - wouldn';t want to be presumtious!).

We didn't do much other than visit the beach, eat, drink and (Nicholas mainly) read. Although still not enough cakes and cream tea methinks Gillis'!

Oh and we came back to a newly decorated bedroom - complete with full ceiling. Hurrah!!!!!
