Coombe Grove Manor

Well, we had our weekend away down in Bath. (Beware the children worshippers, there are no photos of children here due to their bad parents packing them off with Grandma and Grandad for the weekend. Hence there aren't many photos, there was nothing to photograph!!!!!!!!)

Anyway, Nick and I went for a much needed break from the two small ones. We visited Bath and stayed in the most bizarre 5* hotel known to man - more like 2 in our world. Despite this fact, we still had a lovely time. I had a much needed pedicure and full body massage - delicious! Nick played a few holes of golf, solved his aiming problem, swam and read the paper. And we only checked up on the children about 5 times!!!!! Bliss!

We Christmas shopped on Saturday, ate two very posh evening meals - despite The Grove's best attempts to scupper dinner on Saturday (they cancelled our booking and there was no room at 2030 so we had to find somewhere in Bath & scrape money together to get there, ho-hum). We drank, ate, drank and slept. Magic. Not very exciting for bloggers everywhere but a welcome change for us and boy were we pleased to see the girls on Sunday!

P.S.

Just in case you hadn't realised, we weren't impressed with the hotel, so don't bother trying there if you decide to visit Bath - there's some lovely ones in the centre!!!!!!

Mother Earth?

Well, usually but not today!

Unfortunately today, I called in the cavalry. Had a huge fainting fit thingy and puked lots. Suffice to say, spent most of the day in bed, or talking on the big white telephone! "ENOUGH ALREADY" I hear you cry. So that's all.

Nick has taken on the newly designed title of "Father Earth" (not very imaginative - but give me a break!) and has dealt with 3 children, coping admirably. I couldn't really tell you what they've done all day, but I know Jessica went foraging for worms this morning, I know they went to the swings (see pictures), and I know they made scones WHICH I CAN'T EAT YET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You'll have to wait until later for Nick's tuppence happeny!

Begging blog!

Can anyone with any decent photos of Madeline's Naming Day, please burn a CD of them and post/give it to us. Our photography skills left the building last weekend and we need some better ones!

Ta!

If you go down to the woods today...

You get very wet, cold, hungry (for a spell there) and tired!

Yes, we had a barbecue, the second weekend in September - supposedly 21 degrees (where???????) in Wendover Woods.

The gang met up for a day without golf clubs, and the ladies and children were allowed too! Once Hannah saved the day by bringing all the gazebo pieces, and the ranger had come and unlocked the barbecue... eventually, we were up and running! All went swimmingly well, boys played lots of silly games (and one solitary girl - guess who?), girls talked birthing stories & general chit-chat.

At 4pm we gave up waiting for the sun to burn through the mist - we'd had a fair innings (to keep with the general cricket mania theme which has attacked the world apparently - whatever!) so back to David and Hannah's for tea and Naming day cake. Then home with 2 very grumpy children. Joy!

Don't forget all the joining pieces David! Posted by Picasa
