Blimey.... nearly a month!

And what do we have to show for it?

Certainly the main event would be the erection of a small timber climbing frame for the girls. Something small and understated we thought. Unfortunately we then went and built a 3 metre high by 1 metre squared based monster! But the girls think it's pretty cool. There's even a pulley and bucket for them to get their toys up top without hurting themselves along the way! Ahhh quiet lazy afternoons watching your children play unaided...... or ...... torrential rain almost every single day since the bleedin' thing was completed! Ho hum... there's plenty of time yet.

Anyway, apart from that, we went and visited Pete and Courtney in their new (about 6 months) pad, trashed the house, re-laid the patio gravel and ran away! I don't think any permanent damage was done, apart from Pete's burnt hand that is. The food was delicious (both Saturday night AND the exciting all siblings together BBQ on Sunday) so Pete, you shouldn't feel your pain was in vain! Suffice to say, we'll be going back, invited or not. Especially as they have the energy to ceaselessly play and attend to our children in that "Aunt and Uncle without their own children and will therefore lavish attention at nieces" kind of way. Lurvely!

More of that followed on the following weekend as Uncle Sam came up for a visit. Another adult/boozy evening followed by another tired and low energy Sunday morning walk/bike ride, completed with a pub lunch and then dozing all round! Another great weekend.

We've been to Jessica's school open evening to hear all the things we haven't done to prepare her for school (IN SEPTEMBER - AAARRRGGGHHH!!). The over-riding memory of which seems to be that we need her to have an easily opened lunch box. I'm sure they gave us other information but the food stuff seemed to stick in my mind more - hmmmmm.

John, Lucy, Ella and Thomas have been to see us and John's fitted the lights in the kitchen. We also went to, I believe he described it as "we went to stare at some beatniks in a field", which was actually the Leamington Peace Festival. It was very pleasant although it was a bit like staring at some beatniks in a field! But there you go! The girls enjoyed watching possibly the most un-funny (and actually oldest) children's entertainer in the world. I did laugh when he asked the children for some new material. Ella wasn't shy! It was the one about the banana on her head.... didn't really get it, neither did he, which was the pure comedy. Obi Wan has taught you well!

We've also had a photo shoot for my mum's **th birthday present. It went well which was a miracle considering there were 15 subjects, seven of whom were seven and under! And that's ignoring the calibre of the adult subjects!

Anyway, blah, blah, blah. Here's a few pictures, but the camera hasn't made it out often so relish the few that are there. I'll try not to leave it so long....
