Day 7 - Gravenhurst - Toronto - Leamington
The final morning, the final breakfast a la Robyn and the final goodbyes to Candida. On the road down to Toronto we took a slight detour to Oshawa to see Auntie/Great Auntie/Great Great Auntie Helen (Nan C's little sister). In line with all Canadian hospitality we were royally looked after with an array of biscuits, rolls, cheese, grapes and so on. And all we had to do in return was re-arrange a rug which was a major health and safety issue.
After that we drove back across to Toronto, although due to a rather aggressive lorry driver the two cars took different routes. The party was re-united in downtown Toronto though and we headed for the CN Tower, one of Canada's most famous landmarks. For some reason they built the elevator on the outside of the tower which is where Liz and I immediately began to experience 'The Fear'. However, our eldest daughter experienced the opposite of 'The Fear' and was determined to see everything. This included climbing on things on one of the levels where you could go outside, and mainly walking and lying on the famous glass floor where you can see straight down. Needless to say her parents stood a long way back and made a ridiculous fuss about the whole thing.
Dinner was in Casey's which can be best described as an upmarket, yup you've guessed it, Boston Pizza. Hooray. From there it was on to the airport, followed by a plane journey where both girls slept the whole way (although in Maddy's case not very well and mainly on either me or Liz). Then somehow we drove all the way back to Leamington and have been catching up on sleep ever since.
