For all your amusement Jessica and I have had a small disagreement.
We were playing with the play dough and I made a 3D person for her. She however believes it to be a duck. "Quack, quack, quack" was her response when shown!
So... could you all comment on whether you think it's a person or a duck, just so I can prove to Jessica how wrong she is!!!???????

As husband and father I would say that this is an obvious example of the author of a text having no control over the interpretation used by the reader - or to put it another way I think their both right becasue I don't think there is a universal objective truth which constitutes the person/duck thing!

The answer to this tricky indentification problem lies in (surprisingly) Aylesbury - home of the famous Aylesbury duck - where most of the people look like ducks and most of the ducks can hold very decent conversations. So the handsome sculpture can be either or.
Tomorrow I will solve the Ireland problem.

I say its a Duck, but Andrew considers it to be a person although he's not sure what the question is!
James says it's a snow man and William says its little cook.
Sorry Liz, I'm taking Jessica's side on this one - it looks like a duck to me!! (Maybe Canadian ducks look different from English ducks)

Hmmm... a duck I think, though wearing a hat which makes me question the whole duck thing...
